It’s generally good practice to exercise caution when dealing with cold callers and to prioritise your safety and security.

Here are some tips to consider:

Verify their Identity

Ask for the caller’s name, company, and contact information.

Verify their identity by calling the company directly using a publicly available number, not the one provided by the cold caller. You should always be able to find a company’s main number with a quick search on Google.

Ask for Identification

If the person claims to be a representative of a company or organisation, ask to see their identification. Legitimate professionals should carry proper identification.

ALL Platinum Park Home Services personnel who operate onsite carry company identification cards, and wear highly recognisable company uniforms, and drive company vehicles with our company logo and sign writing on. 

Don’t Share Personal Information

Avoid providing personal or financial information to unknown callers.

Be cautious about discussing your schedule, routine, or any other details that could compromise your security.

Use Door Viewers, Peepholes or Glazed Panels

Install a peephole or door viewer so you can see who is at your door without opening it.

A representative of Platinum Park Home Services will always show you their identification card when meeting with you.

Set Clear Boundaries

Do not feel obligated to let anyone into your home if you are uncomfortable or unsure.

Politely but firmly state that you do not allow strangers into your home without prior appointments.

Consider installing a security system with a camera at your front door to monitor and record activity.

Join Do-Not-Call Lists

Register your phone number on do-not-call lists to reduce the number of unwanted cold calls received.

The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is the UK’s only official ‘Do Not Call’ register for landlines and Mobile numbers. It allows people and businesses to opt out of unsolicited live sales and marketing calls.

The TPS is free and quick to register a telephone number. Doing so will reduce the amount of unwanted sales and marketing calls you receive.
