The process of applying External Wall Insulation (EWI) to a Park Home involves several key steps.
An outline of our process is detailed below:
Before beginning the External Wall Insulation installation, the Park Home’s exterior walls are assessed for their condition and suitability for insulation, eg. Does the property have an overhanging roofline? Any existing damage or areas of concern, such as cracks or dampness, may need to be addressed prior to installation. Any necessary repairs or surface treatments are carried out at this stage.
Our 6-layer Park Home External Wall Insulation system, features thick grey graphite expanded polystyrene boards, which you can select the thickness of, topped with layers of reinforced glass fibre mesh and render that sets rock hard.

Insulation panels are then installed onto the exterior walls of the park home using mechanical fixings.
The panels are carefully positioned and secured to create a continuous layer of insulation across the entire wall surface, ensuring no gaps or voids are left behind.

Once the insulation panels are in place, a reinforcing mesh is typically applied over the surface to strengthen the system and provide additional support.
A base coat of cementitious render is then applied over the mesh to fully encapsulate the insulation panels, making your Park Home waterproof, weatherproof and creating a smooth and even surface for the final finish.
Once this stage has been completed, you should start to feel the benefits of your External Wall Insulation.

The final stage involves applying a decorative render or painted Topcoat over the base coat. This coat is applied using a trowel, and the colour is already pigmented into the tubs.
Some painted Topcoats can dry and cure within 24-48 hrs, but they do need warm and dry weather conditions to dry and set effectively and to avoid the rain washing it off the walls. During the inclement weather, we do use a winter bond, which is only available in white, but that does set even in light rain!
Once completed, the finished Topcoat enhances the aesthetics of the Park Home and provides a final barrier against weathering, moisture, and UV exposure.
