Case Studies - External wall insulation, Surrey

Description of works

Mr Bell moved into his Park Home last year. He found that his property was getting colder at night especially throughout the Winter months. He was finding it hard to stay warm and noticed it became increasingly more expensive to heat. This resulted in him not always heating the home properly due to high bills.

He found out about the UK Government funding that was available for Park Home residents and decided to call Happy Energy Solutions to see if he was eligible for any help.

His property is a single unit, approximately 40 years of age. The exterior was in good condition, but the walls lacked any sort of insulation.

Our approach

With the help of Platinum Park Home Services (PPHS), Mr Bell was able to fully fund his insulation project through Happy Energy Solutions with the LAD1B funding they are delivering. Happy Energy was really helpful in facilitating the funding of the project and working with PPHS to comply with all regulations.

To allow the insulation to be fitted watertight and not cause any Cold Bridging, we had to extend Mr Bell’s Boiler Flue and Pressure Release Valve.

In order to comply with the latest PAS regulations, we also installed continuous DMEV fans in both the bathroom and kitchen to assure no moisture build up occurred.

The fans look very neat and tidy and are non-invasive to listen to whilst they are running.

With the help of the PPHS installation team, Mr Bell had External Wall Insulation fitted to his property. We installed a 60mm thick EPS direct fix system, finished in a beautiful smooth Grey Topcoat. The work complied with PAS 20:30 2019 regulations and was registered with TrustMark. All our work is backed up by a 25-year guarantee.
